Our story
Started on a Job Site. Built in a Factory.
SpecIQ is family owned and operated. We spent more than 35 years in building automation before founding SpecIQ in 2016, and the frustration was always the same: control panels built off a bucket, wired differently by every tech, failing inspection.
So we moved panel building off the job site and into the shop. Earning UL 508A and ULC certification as a fully custom panel shop took years. Most shops skip it or certify only a fixed product line. We don't.
Today SpecIQ is a UL 508A and ULC certified control panel manufacturer, the custom panel builder that installers, engineers, and OEMs across the US and Canada rely on.

Our Fort Gratiot, Michigan facility was purpose-built for UL 508A and ULC control panel production: controlled component sourcing, standardized wiring bays, and a dedicated burn-in lab where every panel runs 48 hours before it ships. UL walks through unannounced, four times a year.
